Performing in Different Spaces
Retirement communities offer residents many different types of programs. Music tends to be the most popular and there are many different settings a performer can find themselves in. Sometimes the room is spacious and with lots of light and other times it can be a tight fit and less than ideal. But no matter the setting I try to give my best at every show.
The following videos are taken at different communities. I wanted to show that each space, although different, offers the performer ways to connect and engage with the audience. Typically communities have a designated room for performances but since covid started I have found myself in dining rooms, kitchens, bistros, and big stages.
No matter what size the room or how many people attend the show I always have a good time with the residents because music helps us to shine. And music is the best medicine!
