Espresso Love

The GU Energy Gel Packet and I are having a staring contest. It’s Espresso Love. Shes calling me to bring her on an adventure to the wooded trails up to the fire tower. Today will be the 7th run in 6 days. I’m feeling better about running consistently, I just wish it was a bit cooler out.

It’s amazing that I can feel so incredible with colder night runs and so miserable during the heat of the day. 4 or 5 miles feels like twice that in the heat.

The extreme temp difference kills me. I feel like the sun on my shoulders is actual weight. I’m thankful for races that begin in the early mornings. I intend to get better at running in the heat. I guess I need more practice sweating at the Bikram Yoga Studio. And I could learn a thing or two from my girlfriend, Suzanne, who completed yet ANOTHER marathon today. She is absolutely amazing and is creating amazing results in her life. Her website is pretty cool too.

The small efforts, the steps forward, the moments when we chose to create results in our lives are the defining moments. Inspiration is everywhere and I see it in amazing people and commonplace as well. For example, my front porch has been witnessing a chaotic festival of excavation since early May. The scale of work necessary was truly daunting, but the job got done right.

I appreciate the results now that I drive and walk on a new road.  It’s easy to forget that during the excavation and beeping of the steel monsters at 6am,  the backhoes and bobcats, the iron pipes and pcp stacks, the hard hats and short drops , the banging and shoveling, the pot holes and puddles and moats around driveways.....amount to a pristine, professional looking asphalt road in front of my driveway.

New roads are a good thing. I enjoy seeing progress being made. It inspires me to create more results and make more progress.

It’s humid out and I’m to run. This is going to be a fun afternoon.
