Running at Goose

I fit in a 4 mile trail run before the thunderstorms hit this evening.  The ground was springy enough to let me know it was a trail run but rooted and rocky enough to let me know it wasn’t going to be easy.

The air was lemonade.  I tasted the nectar and it was good. Every once in awhile I’d peek to my left and see Goose Pond with a heavy mist over her eerily still waters. This was blissful.

It was 4:30pm on a Wednesday.

A month ago I didn't have this luxury. I couldn’t just go out in the middle of the day and do anything I wanted.  I knew that a change needed to happen but I didn’t know if I could do it. My mind was closed to other options staring me in the face and my girlfriend , Suzanne, helped to open it. She is one of the most focused people when it comes to goal setting so I knew I had a powerhouse cheerleader rooting for me.

What I learned during this transition was that I have the power to change my situation. What other things will I change? I guess you’ll need to watch while I show you over the coming weeks and months while I grow stronger mentally and physically.

I’m grateful for the flexibility I have in my schedule now. This guy’s heart is full of peaceful easy feelings.
